Superintendent’s Message
Hello and Welcome to Memphis ISD.
Memphis Independent School District will pursue excellence in education developing contributing citizens in our society. It is the mission of Memphis ISD to develop students intellectually, physically, and artistically preparing them for success in the future. Great students, great staff, great parents and a great community provide the key ingredients to achieve our mission.
Our staff encourages students of all abilities to strive toward academic excellence. We want our students to develop an unquenchable thirst for lifelong learning and discovery. This will help ensure their success in an ever-changing world.
Memphis ISD provides a safe and caring environment for all students. We want our students to leave school each day with a positive self-image. We believe if our students are nurtured and cared for, then success will be within their grasps.
Our district is proud to be one of the most technologically advanced school districts in the state. Our students have access to COWS (computers on wheels) in the classroom. All district classrooms have interactive smartboards that help engage students at every grade level.
Memphis ISD offers a wide variety of successful extra-curricular activities for our students. Our athletic, band, UIL academics, FCCLA and FFA programs have crowned many champions at district, regional and state competitions. We strive to give that opportunity to every student of Memphis ISD.
I hope you can see that Memphis is a community that values education and is a great place to raise a family. Our students, teachers, parents and local businesses contribute to make Memphis ISD a great place to go to school.
